Real Estate Blog - Austin was the Second-Fastest Growing City in the U.S. for 2007-2008.

Finally moved to Austin!

So we (me, jen and the dog) have finally moved to Austin. It has been a pretty smooth move, barring a few glitches with the furniture from the movers and taking a while to decorate the new house, but we have done extremely well, and I am proud of the way we handled it overall.

The move has also been easier than I anticipated it to be. Jen has been an absolute rockstar in getting the house organized and has taken full responsibility of the overall look and feel of the house. She has a knack for interior design and is great with being the "handyman" in the house. Me, being the geek that I am, suck at this, but hey, I never had to hang pictures or drill holes in the wall when I was in India! Hell, I have never even seen a drill in my life!

But we have worked great together as a team and living with Jen and Cutter has been a breeze. I am extremely excited for the future (including our upcoming trip to India and our wedding) and look forward to a great new chapter in life.

The Move to Austin, Texas

Me, Jen and Cutter are planning to move to Austin TX by September 1, 2008. Both me and Jen are excited and nervous at the same time. We have not lived together before and this is definitely a big step in our relationship, and we are both looking forward to it. I plan on continuing to work with Sun Microsystems and Jen will be looking to continue her job with Pier 1 Imports.

The plan is to rent a house temporarily while we get adjusted to the city and Jen graduates from UT Austin. We have done a lot of research looking at houses and apartments, and have narrowed down on a bunch of houses. The hope is to find something that fits our requirements and is close to work and school. Austin ofcourse is a great city so I am sure we will not fall short of entertainment (and great bbq) there!

Here we come Austin :)
